“A Growing Tradition” Continues at UNBC
Prince George, B.C. – Plant lovers will want to head up to UNBC later this morning.
This as the David Douglas Botanical Garden Society holds its 2015 annual plant sale.
“We are offering annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, loads of vegetables, I’ve got hundreds of tomatoes,” says plant sale coordinator Birthe Miller. “And then you’ve got your usual favourites including squash, cucumber and all kinds of herbs and herb baskets.”
She says they also have speciality items “you won’t find in other stores” such as the Hypertufa which she notes are containers that “can be left outside all winter.”
A representative with the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George will be present to talk about the NorGrow compost for sale.
And as if the selection of plants wasn’t enough, she says they’ll also have master gardeners on hand to share their expertise “to help you with your selection and give you gardening advice.”
Miller is expecting a big crowd noting “there’s usually over a hundred people waiting when the doors open.”
The sale runs from 10 until 1 in parking lot B.
