Prince George, B.C.- It was a case of you snooze, you lose, at the annual David Douglas Botanical Society’s plant sale.
The sale started at 10 this morning at UNBC, but long before the sale opened up, there was a long line up of gardening enthusiasts waiting for the opportunity to purchase some of the plants offered for sale.
They came with wagons and boxes, bags and carts, all ready to load up on the plants that were available.
“The response this year has been incredible” says volunteer Doug Willoughby.
Annuals and perennials were set out in groups of shade loving, sun loving, shrubs and trees. Not only was it an opportunity to find some plants that are perfect for the Prince George climate, but with several master gardeners on hand, there was an opportunity to get some good advice.
