Prince George, B.C.- The Little Bobtail Lake  fire is now 45% contained,  however, the Wildfire Management Branch is concerned about public accessing the area.

There have been some safety concerns regarding reports of the public coming in and out of evacuation alert and order areas. Security check points have been established on several areas of the fire. Wildfire Management Branch is urging compliance with these restrictions.

The public is reminded tat the Little Bobtail Lake fire is still an active wildfire and driving or using recreational vehicles in restricted or evacuated areas may endanger the lives of crews who rely on these roads for operational purposes and escape routes.  There are  315  firefighters and  heavy equipment operators  battling the blaze.

In addition, recently burned areas and areas of active wildfire contain multiple potential hazards, including dangerous trees with compromised root systems, hotspots, and unstable temporary access routes and fire guards.

The fire is holding at 25 thousand hectares.
Convective activity is forecasted again today and there is a  chance of some erratic winds. Crews will monitor weather conditions and plan their response accordingly.
