Prince George BC -The severe thunderstorm watch issued earlier today has now been upgraded to a severe thunderstorm warning
Thunder can be heard rolling over the region and there is a potential for large hail and heavy rainfall.
Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts and up to penny size hail.
Doppler radar indicates that a line of strong thunderstorm has developed producing extreme damaging wind gusting to 90 km/h about 25 km southwest of Prince George. The line of strong thunderstorms is moving eastward and will affect communities along Highway 97 south of Prince George within one hour.
BC Hydro is already reporting a power outage south of Quesnel. There are no immediate reports of power outages in Prince George.
