Prince George, B.C.- “Outstanding”, a word UNBC President Daniel Weeks mentioned several times in his opening address this morning at the convocation ceremony at the Northern Sport Centre.Weeks was officially installed as the new President of the University, in a ceremony that had him don his new, ceremonial robes.
While he will save his inaugural address for a special 25th anniversary event in June, President Weeks’ spoke of many ‘outstanding’ aspects of UNBC.

From it’s faculty and staff, the basketball team, the awards received by many who are studying or working at the university, the basketball team and the students who spearheaded the free transit initiative during the Canada Winter Games, all “outstanding” said President Weeks.
This morning’s event was the first of two slated for today at UNBC. This morning it was the graduates of the College of Arts, Social and Health Sciences and this afternoon, graduates of the College of Science and Management will receive their degrees.
Todays ceremonies are the first two of six that will take place either at UNBC or at satellite campuses throughout the north
