There has been talk about the repairs or replacement of the underground infrastructure in that area for at least the last 10 years that I know of.

And another one breaks..why not see about getting them lines? Less expensive than replacing and works very well. Do it now and be proactive rather than constantly reactive.

Fix infrastructure in the city? LMAO noooo we need to spend money getting the winter games here and paying consultants to tell us how to revitalize downtown and pay four-person crews to water hanging flower pots in the rain!!!

Jeepers… if it’s not burning, it’s flooding…

‘No word yet on what caused it or when it will be fixed.’ – The entire city infrastructure is old, and ready to go. A majority of the downtown mains have never been replaced, or upgraded, since the late 50’s. Ask anyone who does does civil work, and knows this city, it’s a disaster waiting to happen.

Just read my comment.. It is supposed to say.. Get them lined..we have used a company to line a few sewer lines where I work..was professionally done..they brought their own rescue personnel, excellent result.

Just the escavation and cost of concrete disposal would cover the cost… But again..why be proactive..it’s cheaper, safer and makes sense…. Something our city hall just can’t grasp

P Val….just wondering if they were union or not.

Digitus, actually I don’t know. Wasn’t looking after that particular job.

So you really cant give me any particulars about the job because you weren’t there. Do they just drill the clean-outs after ? How would that work with a water pipe with so many valves on them ?

Yes I can…they blow a liner into the line..then once it hardens they enter the line and cut out any connections etc. they first send down a camera to plot out the job etc. I can get you the name of the company we used if you would like

the lost infrastructure money is coming home to roost in many communities across the country. The cuts to CIT rates and the trickle down theory has failed Canadians and their communities. I don’t know what it will take for people to stop and think critically about conservative and liberal policies that make corporations richer while making the rest of us poorer, communities included.
