COFI Names New CEO
Prince George, B.C.- The Council of Forest Industries has selected a new CEO and President, Susan Yurkovich.
Currently with BC Hydro as the Executive Vice President responsible for leading the development of the Site C project., she also has extensive experience in the forest industry having spent ten years with Canfor, and was that company’s Vice President of Corporate Affairs.
She fills the void created when James Gorman resigned from COFI earlier this year to take on his new responsibilities as Vice-President, Corporate and Government Relations with West Fraser.
COFI Board Chair, Ted Seraphim says COFI is “exceptionally pleased” that Yurkovich is to lead the COFI team, “Her experience at the highest levels of corporate management in both the forest sector and public sector will be of critical importance in shaping an exciting future for our industry and the employees and communities that depend upon it.”
Yurkovich will start her new job at COFI in mid September.
