Primary Care Clinic Still in the Cards for Quesnel
Quesnel, B.C. – Plans for a primary care clinic are well underway in Quesnel.
“The primary care clinic in Quesnel is at the RFP (request for proposal) stage,” says Jonathon Dyck, Public Affairs and Media Lead with Northern Health. “To respect that process, we will share more information once it has concluded.”
He says Northern Health is “looking at a late summer, early fall opening.”
“As you can imagine, it does take time and planning to get something like this underway so the team is working hard on that,” says Dyck.
The clinic will rely on a variety of members of the health care team which may include visiting and permanent physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, primary care nurses, and mental health and addiction clinicians.
Support will also be provided by other medical professionals including dietitians, pharmacists and women support.
Northern Health Quesnel Health Service Administrator Debbie Strang revealed plans for a Primary Care Clinic to 250 News early last month.
