Tight Squeeze for Exhibit
Team works to squeeze vintage fire truck into Exploration Place- photo submitted
Prince George, B.C.- The City of Prince George is not the only one celebrating a centennial this year, Prince George Fire Rescue is as well, and the Exploration Place is preparing for an exhibit that will celebrate that fact.
The exhibit, which will be officially open to the public on Canada Day, will have the 1928 REO Speedwagon Fire Truck front and centre. Getting that vehicle into the Museum was easier said than done says Exploration Place CEO Tracy Calogheros ” “ The Firefighters Alumni along with some of the current firemen were out in force today to help us get this truck into the George Phillips Exhibit Gallery. It would not have gotten into place without their ingenuity and muscle power!”
In addition to the vintage firetruck, the exhibit will also look at the technologies associated with fighting fires, fire safety and some of the structural fires that have impacted the development of Prince George.
The exhibit coincides with the Prince George Fire Rescue release of a special coffee table book.
All proceeds from the sale of the book will go to the Burn Fund.

That would be “REO” not REP Speedwagon Fire Truck
Editor’s note; Thanks for the ‘sharp eyes’ the correction has been made
