Girls Will be Off and Running
Prince George, B.C. – This morning at 11:00 marks the start of the end of the fifth ‘Girls Run for Fun’ in P.G.
An event organized by the Prince George RCMP Community Policing and Victim Services unit , the seven week program wraps with a road race that starts and finishes at Fort George Park.
This year, nearly 40 girls aged 10 – 15, will start the 5 km race kilometre race begins on the perimeter road of the park, just off of 17th Avenue, continues over the Hudson’s Bay Wetland Nature Park bridge, past Paddlewheel Park, back to the park, along Ingledew Street to Patricia Boulevard, onto Taylor Drive, and then finishes on the perimeter road of the park.
The program is an esteem builder for young women, and with sponsorship from the Ministry of Children and family development and volunteers, is free to girls in the community.
