Wednesday, June 24, 2015 @ 3:46 AM

Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George School Board established the terms of reference for its ad hoc committee on rural education at its monthly meeting last night.

The committee was formed at a March board meeting, and will receive input on the successes and challenges of rural education throughout the district.

Vice-chairperson Brenda Hooker says “the intent behind forming the committee is to engage in a broad conversation with stakeholders about rural education models and funding.”

Membership will consist of two trustees, three support staff, two principals, one CUPE member and one PG District Teachers Association member.

The committee will host working sessions in Mackenzie, Valemount, McBride and Prince George this coming September and October.

The chair of the committee will present a summary of the meetings and any recommendations to the Management and Finance Committee in December.

Senior administration has been tasked with developing a travel and supply budget.
