Prince George BC -The time capsule that was interred 25 years ago has been unearthed.
Later today the contents will be revealed at a special unveil set to take place at the Bob Harkins Library at 3:45.
For Tracy and Tim Holzworth the anticipation is unbelievable. Their mother put something into the capsule but told her children they would just have to wait and see. She passed away 5 years ago but her secret will be revealed this afternoon. “I have no idea what might be in it” says Tracy Holzworth, who says she thought about the item every time she passed by the Welcome to Prince George sign at 16 and 97, knowing that’s where the time capsule had been interred.
Penny Harder (nee Wijcik) was a grade one student at Quinson Elementary 25 years ago when she was asked to be a ‘guardian’ of that time capsule.

She says while she doesn’t remember placing anything inside it, she has been told she did. “I don’t remember putting anything into the time capsule, if I did, it was probably a letter, but I do remember being told over and over again that I was a guardian and that I was to always remember where the capsule was buried.”
She travelled from Edmonton along with her three sons to witness today’s events. The event is extra special for her, as her middle son, Isaac, is now the same age she was when she was made a guardian. ” I thought it would be really cool to see because one of my boys is the same age I was when it ( the time capsule) was buried.”
