Calogheros Seeking Liberal Nomination
Prince George, B.C. – Tracy Calogheros, CEO of the Exploration Place, is throwing her hat in the ring and hopes to become the Liberal candidate for the riding of Cariboo-Prince George.
She has been involved with the Liberal party for many years, but says “The time is right.”
Calogheros says she has had discussion with her family, and has their support.
She says her experience with the Canada Winter Games motivated her to make the leap ” I am more in love with this Region than ever. I want to contribute to the groundswell of change that is already underway and help to build our Region for the future; I think that my best opportunity to do that is to offer myself up as a potential candidate.”
Of course nominations are only won with the number of memberships sold and turnout at the nomination meeting. There is no date for that meeting yet, and there is one other person who ( not yet ready to go public) is eying the nomination.
Calogheros still has to get the stamp of approval from the Federal Liberal Party which will say yes or no to her intentions.

cricket…..cricket cricket….
Federal NDP get more votes than the Liberals. Seems a centre party that has, arguably, the best fiscal record, doesn’t appeal to voters in the north. Highly unlikely anyone will unseat the CPC in this riding. Sadly, the only chance would be an NDP uprising. I’d say it couldn’t happen, but look at Alberta. The reigning conservatives pissed off the most right wing province so much they swung hard to the left. Massive debt, corrupt (criminal) members, poor job creation, resource giveaways, contempt for courts, parliament, and the voting public, and a general war on science, education, and the environment may be the downfall of this government. But I doubt it’ll cost them in this riding….ever.
