Williams Lake, B.C. – Some good news for Cariboo residents forced from their homes due to wildfires.

This as the Cariboo Regional District has announced that effective tomorrow at 1 pm, residents on the southern shores of Puntzi Lake, including the Kokanee Bay Resort and all properties south, will be allowed to return to their properties.

This area will remain on Evacuation Alert while further changes to Evacuation Orders and Alerts in the area will be determined as areas are deemed safe for re-entry and normal activities.

The changes come following news the 8,000 hectare Puntzi Lake fire is now 30 percent contained (see previous story here).
