Prince George, B.C.- The City of Prince George took advantage of the community BBQ in the VLA area of the City on Sunday to talk with residents in the area about the neighbourhood.Residents offered up much praise for the police presence in the area, noting that when called, the RCMP arrive without delay. Residents said they liked their neighbourhood because it’s quiet, walkable and friendly. They also called for more police bike patrols, a clean up of Strathcona park, road and sidewalk repairs and a demand that landlords clean up their rental properties.
Residents described their neighbourhood as friendly but expressed concern there is not enough activity for children. The Hudson’s Bay Wetland Park was recognized as a jewel in the neighbourhood, and residents like the trail system, but they would like to see a dog park in the area, as well as more facilities for youth .
