Prince George, B.C. – The  interment of the  2015 time capsule  for the City of Prince George  is being delayed. 

(at right,  the 75th  Anniversary  time capsule as it was lifted from its vault July 10- photo 250News archive)Residents of Prince George had been invited to put together items  to be  placed in the 100th Anniversary  capsule that will be interred behind the Welcome to Prince George sign at the intersection of Highways 16 and 97.  That  interment was to  happen yesterday.

But, the  project has been  extended,  as  the City says  it will  allow more time “to ensure that the stories included in each capsule are fully captured”.

The interment will include the reburial of the 75th  Anniversary time capsule which was opened  on Friday , July 10th.

The date for the  reburial of the time capsules has not been set,  the City  only notes that it will happen “later this year.”

Although  not  all of the items that will be in the 100th Anniversary version  are known,  we do know  a full set of  medals  from the Canada Winter Games will  be among the items to be included.
