Quesnel, B.C – RCMP in Quesnel  are asking for the public’s assistance in locating  a  man wanted on a  Canada Wide Warrant.

46 year old Gerald Richard McLean is wanted for parole violation when he  failed to  return to  a halfway house in the Vancouver in early May.

He had been paroled after serving  time for  violent offences.

We are hearing about this now,  as  McLean may have been in the Quesnel area recently.  Police have  made several attempts to locate him, but  as yet have not  had any success.

McLean is considered an experienced outdoorsman and  likes to be in rural areas where  he   has been known to live off the land and pan for gold.

He is described as:

• Caucasian male, 5’8″,
• 160 lbs,
• green eyes,
• hair colour may vary, and
• tattoos on both upper arms.

He may have  shaved  and cut his hair since the  photo at right was taken.

McLean is believed to be armed.  If  spotted,  police advise you do not approach him,  call 9-1-1 immediately.
