Valemount, B.C. – It may seem a minor improvement until you are the patient or the health care worker benefitting from the use of a spine board.  And to rural health facilities, every little bit helps.

The Valemount Health Centre has received a new spine board this week received a new spine board.  The EVAC-U-Splint is used to stabilize a patient during transport and improves the safety aspect for both the person being transported and the health care professionals lifting the patient.

The $2000 board’s purchase was made possible by a couple of benefactors.  Maria Lerch donated the proceeds from her Fall Book Fair and teamed up with Ellen Duncan to make personal donations toward the cost.
