Coroner’s Service Confirms One Person Killed In Highway 39 Accident

Prince George, B.C. – The B.C. Coroner’s Service has confirmed that one person was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 39, south of Mackenzie, on Saturday morning.

Barbara McLintock, Coroner, Strategic Programs, tells 250 News that sometime between 6:30 and 7 am Saturday there was a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 39, less than one kilometre toward Mackenzie from the junction with Highway 97.

The vehicle had one occupant, a male, who was deceased at the scene.  The name and home town of the victim have not been released.

No further information is expected to be available until Tuesday due to the long weekend.

So why would they close Hwy97 if the crash occurred one kilometer down Hwy 39?
That seems a little strange.
