Information Sketchy on Fatal Accident North of Mackenzie Junction – Update

Drive BC cam shot pointing east from Mackenzie junction.
Prince George, B.C. – The RCMP is not yet able to provide any information about a fatal motor vehicle crash which has occurred near the junction of Highways 97 and 39, approximately 29 kilometres south of Mackenzie.
Highway 39 was closed to all traffic following the incident however Drive BC now says the road is reduced to single-lane alternating traffic at the collision site, 2 kilometres north of Mackenzie Junction.
BC RCMP Communications in Vancouver says there is no information available on the accident at this early stage of the investigation.
Further updates will be provided once available.

Since when have we had a Hwy 97 East?
The camera is pointing more to the east than north but does it really matter?
The names of highways use the general directions of the highways. Thus HWY97 is a North-South highway.
However, at any one specific spot the highway changes local direction.
Get out your favourite map and you will notice that at the HWY39 junction with HWY97 HWY97 North actually is aligned almost perfectly in an east-west direction and HWY39 intersects it almost perpendicularly and heads almost due North from the intersection.
The camera, as it says, is pointing due east.
Oh, does it matter?
Well, if you want to check tomorrow morning whether the sun is rising and when, that camera will be a good location to check if it is a clear day since the sun should be rising just to the left of the center of the picture.
Nit picking at it’s finest.

it is 97 North….
the camera is pointed east….
the highway does go in different directions than NORTH…including east and west and in a few cases even south for short distances.
and yes Sophic Sage it is nit picking…
Did anyone see this accident??We believe it was a family member,trying to make sense of what happened.
A human life has been cut shortt and here they are bantering casually about some trivial matter…
