Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Cougars have added some more offence to their roster.pgcougars2015_1501

They did so today by acquiring 1997-born forward Jesse Gabrielle and a 2017 4th round draft pick from the Regina Pats in exchange for 1998-born forward Lane Zablocki and a 2016 4th round pick.

The 6’0″, 214 pound Gabrielle was a fourth round selection (105th overall) of the Boston Bruins in the 2015 NHL draft.

Last season he combined for 23 goals, 21 assists and 112 penalty minutes for the Regina Pats and Brandon Wheat Kings.

He also added one goal and three assists in nine playoff games.

Zablocki, a fifth round selection of the Cougars in the 2013 WHL draft, spent last year playing with the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the Alberta Junior Hockey League where he played in 55 games and recorded 15 goals and 10 assists with 114 penalty minutes.

With the acquisition of Gabrielle, the Cougars now have five NHL drafted players on their roster.

Gabrielle will be with his Prince George teammates when the Cougars training camp kicks off August 28th at CN Centre.
