Smoke Testing to Start in Blackburn
Prince George, B.C.- The City of Prince George will be conducting tests on the sewer system in Blackburn this week, and residents are advised the City is using smoke to identify any possible leaks.
The City says the smoke being used is non-toxic, but advises that should any smoke enter a home, residents should open the windows to improve ventilation. The City says the smoke is not harmful to humans, pets or household contents, “but may be irritating to breathe”.
According to information from the City, the lines being tested were first identified as in need of possible repair in 2000.
The work is being conducted by OPUS DaytonKnight and their subcontractor Northern Lites Technology and is expected to take one or two weeks to complete.

The City says the smoke being used is non-toxic,“but may be irritating to breathe”. Huh, run that by one more time about not being toxic. So what occurs if an occupant is away on the day of the testing , but the pets are in the home , what happens then when the house fills with this so called harm “non- toxic smoke ” and the pets are trapped in the smoke fill house.
