Coin Laundry Thefts in P.G.
Prince George, B.C.- Over the past few weeks, there have been eleven reports of thefts from coin operated laundry machines in apartment buildings in Prince George.RCMP say in addition to the thefts of cash, the washers and dryers have been badly damaged. Police say the activity is happening in the late evening or early morning hours.
Prince George Mounties are looking for the public’s assistance in identifying those responsible for this rash of thefts and are calling on all apartment building managers and management companies to ensure the coin operated laundry facilities are properly secured and monitored.
The P.G. RCMP’s Community Policing Section is available to make a security evaluation at no charge. Building managers can contact PG Community Policing at 250-561-3366 to make arrangements for the evaluation.
In the meantime, anyone with any information on the thefts, is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

How much coin is required these days to run the machines? If it’s toonies, that can add up to some serious coin accumulating in the machine.
