Prince George, B.C. – Prince George RCMP have a man in custody in connection with an incident on Pinewood Avenue around 10:30 this morning.

Staff Sergeant Adam MacNeill says what was first believed to be a stabbing turned out not to be.  He says a woman was shoved down and fell into a coffee table.  Police and ambulance personnel were called to the scene.

S/Sgt. MacNeill says the man and woman are both in their early 20s and are known to each other.  He says police had a good idea where the man might have been heading and arrested him in the VLA.  The male is known to police.  He is being held in custody and will be appearing before a Justice of the Peace to be charged with assault.
