Still No NDP Candidate in Northern Riding

Thursday, August 27, 2015 @ 3:50 AM

Prince George, B.C. – Still no word from the NDP on when a nomination meeting will be held in the Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies riding.

Of B.C.’s 42 ridings, the party says it’s the only constituency without an NDP candidate in place.

Despite the delay though, the NDP still have plenty of time under Canada’s Elections Act.

“The deadline they have to officially register with Elections Canada to have their name on a ballot is September 28 at 2:00pm,” says Elections Canada spokesperson Diane Benson.

She says the only candidate to officially register so far is Conservative incumbent Bob Zimmer though Liberal Matt Shaw and Todd Keller of the Libertarian Party of Canada have both been nominated by their respective parties.

250 News gave the NDP the opportunity to speak to this issue but they refused at this time.

The Conservatives have held the riding continuously since 1972.

Zimmer is probably the easiest guy to win an election against in the conservative party, so its a wonder why there is not more interest in this riding.

The guy is basically the glove of Harper (who in turn is the glove of Netanyahu) and hasn’t done a single thing for his riding other than sell the Canadian Wheat Board to a Saudi state owned enterprise, because having control over our infrastructure is much better when its owned by a foreign government rather than our own sovereign government in his mind. The Saudi’s are no dummies, they know oil is losing out its competitive sustainability as an industry and that owning the choke point on the food supply will be their future profits… meanwhile the out of the way farmers in the back woods of the Peace region will have lots of luck one hopes getting their product to market at a competitive market based rate.

Eagle, what Canadian farmer is now OBLIGATED BY LAW to sell his wheat to a monopoly Canadian Wheat Board? If he doesn’t like the price offered, he takes his product elsewhere, or forms his own selling agency. As for Harper being in the “glove of Netanyahu”, an old anti-Zionist like yourself should have learned long ago that when it comes to the overall real aims of what is termed ‘zionism’ it’s what you DON’T see that does you far more harm than what you do see. Ask yourself, which of the political Parties in Canada, (and elsewhere), have been the Party most supported by those who deal in debts? Traditionally, it’s been the Liberal Party. And you may occasionally hear a socialist NDPer talk about how the government should get into banking, but that only effects the ‘administration’ of a bank, never its over-riding ‘policy’. For all socialism really is is monopoly state capitalism with continued control by finance.

If only that were true. Zimmer doesn’t need to campaign at all and he’ll win. The rural voters carry the flag in that riding and they’ll vote Zimmer no matter what, gotta keep those guns unregistered and that oil flowing. They couldn’t care less whether or not Zimmer actually represents them in Ottawa, or what he does or doesn’t do for the riding.

The worst part is Zimmer knows it and so does absolutely nothing (other than say “yes Mr. Harper, whatever you want Mr. Harper, can I shine your shoes Mr. Harper?”) to earn his cheque from you and me.

How could anyone in our ridings know? We always vote for the same party candidates and keep getting the same results (no representation).

If we look outside, say west of here we can see a MP that goes to the wall for his constituents. Vocal, outspoken, cares about what is happening in his riding, listens to all, doesn’t block people that dissagree with him. That is representation.

Don’t kid yourself,Cullen toes the party line like every other politician in this country. He may come out with some nonsensical statements every now and again just to grab the limelight but at the end of the day, he’s a party man just like every one else.

If you want to see what happens to a politician who doesn’t toe the party line, take a look down south at Bob.
