Prince George, B.C. The UNBC  women’s soccer team  is home and is hosting a  3 team tournament  that  gets underway this morning at the North Cariboo Senior Soccer League Field.

In this pre-season action, the lady Timberwolves  will take on  the Thompson Rivers University  at 11 this morning.

Then  TRU  will  be up against Grant MacEwan University  on Saturday at 11,  and the Timberwolves return to the pitch Sunday morning at eleven to face Grant MacEwan  University.

Timberwolves head coach Andy Cameron is looking forward to  the matches  as a way to  evaluate the  performance of  his team  “We have a good core of players returning from last year, and they understand the CIS level, which will make us very competitive against the teams we play.”

Cameron is looking forward to having his players showcase their abilities this weekend “Training has been very competitive in a healthy way,” he said. “Players are pushing each other for starting positions and that will make us better as a group.”

These are the final preseason games for the Timberwolves, who will open their regular season at home on Friday, September 11, against the UBC-Okanagan Heat at 7 p.m.
