Windy Conditions Prompt Call for Caution in Cariboo
Friday, August 28, 2015 @ 3:58 AM
Williams Lake, B.C.- Those planning to spend the last weekend of August in the Cariboo are being called upon to be extra careful in the back country.
While the forecast calls for cooler temperatures and some showers in some areas of the Cariboo Fire Centre, much of the area remains very dry and high winds are expected throughout the region.
The fire danger rating in many areas of the Cariboo, including the Chilcotin and South Cariboo ranges from high to extreme.
In dry and windy conditions, forests and grasslands are very susceptible to wildfires.
