Prince George, B.C. – RCMP in Williams Lake are investigating a multi-vehicle collision which occurred Friday afternoon on Highway 97 near the Chief Will-Yum Campsite gas bar.

At approximately 2pm Williams Lake RCMP, BC Ambulance, 150 Mile House Fire Department and Cariboo Search and Rescue responded to a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 97 South near Mission Road.  A northbound semi-tractor trailer rear ended a pick-up truck towing a travel trailer. One child and one teenager were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Both vehicles were damaged extensively, with some of the debris striking another an oncoming vehicle. That driver was uninjured.

The semi-tractor trailer was empty at the time of the collision and there were no immediate environmental or public safety concerns.  Investigators are trying to determine exactly what lead to the collision but alcohol has been ruled out.

Charges under the motor vehicle act are being considered against the driver of the pickup truck and the semi-tractor trailer.
