Power Outage Averted

Saturday, September 5, 2015 @ 10:14 AM

Prince George, B.C. – A potential power outage was avoided in Prince George this morning.

BC Hydro had warned residents (7,700 customers) living north of the Nechako River they may find themselves without electricity for about 3 hours.

“Well certainly we did send out notification as a precaution but we were hoping that we would have no customers out and indeed that is what’s happened,” says spokesperson Bob Gammer.

“We were able to successfully transfer the load from the Chief Lake substation circuits over to the Foothills substation circuits early this morning, do the restoration work, this repair of damaged insulators, and now we’re just finishing switching customers back.”

Great work guys! Don’t all the Hydro haters think so too…Sounds like they could have done this job more safely by isolating their work zone but did their best to keep customers from losing power, THAT is some good customer service :) Thanks again guys

sqrlly. That is what we pay for.
