Prince George, B.C. – Prince George pet lovers have descended on Moore’s Meadow this morning.

They are participating in the first annual Tails and Trails fundraiser put on by the Prince George Humane Society.

“This event today is to raise crucial funds for the animals we have in care currently for the Prince George Humane Society,” says event co-organizer Andrea Sowers.

“Being as we operate strictly out of foster homes we need to supply the foster homes with pet food, all of the items needed to look after an animal during their stay with their foster parents.”

And because it’s a first annual event, she notes they haven’t set a fundraising goal this year.

“No, this is our first year, we hope to be an annual event and we’re very excited for the exposure in the community and just to show the support that the community has shown.”

The event is taking place at the 1st Avenue entrance to the park, and included a 2.5 km walk this morning and vendors and kids activities until 1 pm this afternoon.
