Vanderhoof Terry Fox Run Saved

Wednesday, September 9, 2015 @ 3:44 AM

Vanderhoof, B.C. – The Terry Fox run will be go in Vanderhoof later this month.

This after the Terry Fox Foundation put the call out for an organizer earlier this year.

“Someone came forward last year and took on the run and we knew he wasn’t going to be able to continue so we went public last spring hoping to find a replacement and to keep the dream alive and well in Vanderhoof,” says Donna White, provincial director for the Terry Fox Foundation.

“Despite not having a lot of success early we were contacted by somebody so we’re thrilled that that has happened and this run will continue.”

She says this year’s run is being organized by local DJ Bryce Duffield and the Vanderhoof Historical Society.

It’s to take place September 20, and will be the 30th annual in Vanderhoof and the 35th nationally.

White says 84 cents out of every dollar collected through the event will go straight to cancer research.

The run in Vanderhoof begins at 9am at the Community Museum at 478 Pine Street.
