Orchestral Change of Venue
Prince George, B.C. – The plan was for the Prince George Symphony Orchestra to hold its annual free Pops in the Park concert at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park this afternoon.
However, as we learn so many times with outdoor events, you can’t do anything about the weather. And so it was that about 25 minutes before showtime at 2pm, the skies opened throughout the bowl and drenched the park with a pretty good downpour.
PGSO members get the word: “we’re moving. Anyone with a truck is asked to help transfer music stands.”
The end result is the concert, which highlights tunes from West Side Story and features well-known singer Andy Beesley and other local soloists, has been moved to St. Michael’s Anglican Church at 5th and Victoria.
The show should be getting underway shortly.
