Prince George, B.C. – The Gymnastics facility at Exhibition Place is in need of repair.
Although the Prince George Gymnastics club has spent $75 thousand dollars upgrading the facility, the aging tin clad building needs more help.
The club has asked city council to add the facility to the list of City assets for assessment. The Club says there is a need for an immediate upgrade to the heating system and there are issues with the building’s exterior and ceiling.
The doors don’t probably seal, and the heating system is failing.
The Club made three requests of Council:
- Make the facility a priority for asset assessment
- Pending the outcome of the assessment possibly engage other user groups to discuss a possible new facility
- Upgrade the heating systems
City Manager Kathleen Soltis says the immediate need to upgrade the heating will be examined first.
