Sunday is Terry Fox Day in P.G.
Prince George, B.C. – Mayor Lyn Hall has declared Sunday September 20th as Terry Fox Day in Prince George and is calling on residents to join him at the annual run on Sunday.
“In Prince George’s 100th Anniversary year, residents are spending a lot of time reflecting on the proud history of our great city,” says Mayor Hall. “Prince George is proud to have played a small, but important part in the legacy of Terry Fox, one of the greatest heroes in the history of Canada. I would like to thank the organizers of the annual Terry Fox Run for their on-going efforts, year in and year out, and the residents of Prince George for giving more and more of their time, energy, and financial resources to this very worthwhile event.”
Terry Fox took part in the Prince George to Boston Marathon (now the Labour Day Classic) in September, 1979 as a test event for his Marathon of Hope which started in April of 1980.
The Prince George Terry Fox Run officially starts at 10 a.m. Sunday, with registration at 9 at the Community Foundation Park .

Maybe if city council, and the mayor, could get as motivated about a wonderful Canadian hero and cause, like Terry Fox, instead of the Syrian refugees, we could accomplish something one day.
Looking forward to running on Sunday with the Mayor and Council
I’ve always wondered if we would have gotten more funding if we had named it Terry Fox University.
it is of my opinion, Maybe the city should be naming something significant in honor of this man. A major Boulevard????
How about Terry Fox Memorial Park?
