Prince George, B.C. – When it comes to fundraising, it was a banner year for yesterday’s 35th annual Terry Fox run in Prince George.
Run volunteer Ron Gallo says the goal was to raise $35,000 but notes over $40,000 has been counted so far.
“It speaks to the heart of Prince George,” he says. “And also to the infectious optimism and drive of lead organizer Scott McWalter.”
Gallo adds fundraising was also helped along with great support from students and the local business community.
He says this year’s take more than doubles last year’s total of just over $16,000 raised.

How about that Laureen Harper , Jason Kenny duet giving away millions to the terry fox run , if elected . Real classy . Real classy on the world stage .
Hats off to the fund raising . 35k more hope .
Ataloss, the matching millions they would give away comes from their personal fortunes? Please tell me it is so! To make it dependent on the outcome of the election is in my opinion quite deplorable!
The government doesn’t need to give money to charity to fund cancer research. The govrnment just..fund cancer research. This was just a cheap shot on the back of one of Canada’s most famous son.
