Prince George, B.C.- One man is in custody and facing property related charges following an investigation that started with a found bicycle.RCMP say they responded early yesterday to a report of a found mountain bike in an alley near 2nd Avenue in Prince George.
The mountain bike appeared to be new and very expensive. Believing this to be highly unusual and that something was wrong, officers conducted checks of local businesses and discovered illegal entry had been made to one business.
Officers entered the business and located an adult male decked out in new clothing and about to remove another expensive mountain bike. The man was arrested without incident. Upon review of video surveillance, the suspect is seen removing four bikes before police arrival. One of the bikes was the one that led police to the business.
Through investigation and with the help from the public, all the bikes and other stolen property were located stashed throughout the downtown area.
