The first of five neighbourhood conversations in the month of October – something they’ve dubbed “Talktober,” begin at the South Fort George Family Resource Centre.
Information collected by City Administration tonight will inform the City’s upcoming budget deliberations, Council’s strategic priorities, and the City’s Corporate Plan for 2016.
The conversations will take place once a week from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the following locations:
October 1 East Bowl – South Fort George Family Resource Centre
October 7 Blackburn – Blackburn Community Hall
October 14 Vanway/Beaverly/Haldi – Vanway Elementary School
October 21 College Heights – Columbus community Hall
October 28 West Bowl – Kinsmen Hall
The following topics will be up for discussion: Parks and Recreation, Roads/Transit, Housing and Development, and include a consultation area on special City initiatives currently underway.
Members of Council and staff will also be showcasing their new interactive budget calculator – the ‘Citizen Budget.’
City staff will be available at each session for questions with each conversation ending in a question and answer period with Mayor and Council.
The first neighbourhood conversations took place in the Hart (June) and the VLA (July).
