Prince George, BC – The nomination period has closed for the upcoming federal election…
Elections Canada has released the final list of candidates for the two area ridings.
The seven candidates running in the Cariboo-Prince George riding are:
- Tracy Calogheros, Liberal Party
- Gordon Campbell, No Affiliation (a North Okanagan resident who has run as an Independent in past federal elections, not the former BC Premier)
- Sheldon Clare, Independent
- Adam De Kroon, Christian Heritage Party
- Todd Doherty, Conservative Party
- Richard Jaques, Green Party
- Trent Derrick, NDP
Six hopefuls are vying for the right to represent the Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies riding:
- Elizabeth Biggar, Green Party
- Barry Blackman, Progressive Canadian Party
- Kathi Dickie, New Democratic Party
- W. Todd Keller, Libertarian Party
- Matt Shaw, Liberal Party
- Bob Zimmer, Conservative Party
The preliminary spending limit for each individual party will be available today – it’s based on the number of confirmed candidates.
Canadians go to the polls on Monday, October 19th. Elections Canada is advising the last round of voter information cards should arrive on doorsteps today.
