Mailboxes Targeted in Williams Lake
Williams Lake, B.C. – A string of mailbox attacks are under investigation in Williams Lake.
RCMP Staff Sgt. Del Byron said the first attack was reported to police September 16 when they found five mailboxes open at Lexington Road and Belleview Drive.
He says the second occurred the next day at the same location noting locks on the community boxes were damaged though nothing was stolen.
There were also two incidents on September 27, the first at Lexington Road where pry marks were once again found on the boxes.
Byron says there was also mail found outside the Nenqayni Wellness Centre at 4802 on Cariboo Highway 97 North the same day.
He says the attacks have not been the norm since he’s been in Williams Lake. “I’ve been here nine months and I’ve never heard of this happening.”
Anyone with information about these attacks is asked to call police.
