Prince B.C. – Police in two jurisdictions in north-central B.C. are investigating  motor vehicle accidents which have blocked highways overnight.

Highway 16 is closed in both directions at Fort Fraser due to a motor vehicle accident.   According to DriveBC,  a detour is available to light traffic via Telegraph Road and Fort Fraser Road.  Details of that accident are not yet available.  The highway is expected to be re-opened by about 10:30 this morning.

Meantime, Highway 5 had been closed to traffic due to an accident 5 kilometres south of Blue River.  That route is now reduced to single lane, alternating traffic.  Again details of that incident are not available.  An update is expected at 8:00 am.
