Charges Approved in Fatal Pedestrian Collisions

Prince George, B.C. – Charges have finally been approved in three separate fatal pedestrian collisions in Prince George last year.

40 year old Nadia Pierrette Marie Brownson of Prince George has been charged with Driving without Due Care & Attention and Speed Relative to Traffic Conditions in relation to a crash on October 5, 2014 on 1st Avenue near Dominion Street.

Brownson struck two adult males with her car that night. A 36 year old Vanderhoof man later died of his injuries in hospital.

77 year old Robert Vernon Johnson of Trail has been charged with Driving without Due Care & Attention and Driving without Reasonable Consideration after he struck and killed two people with a tractor trailer unit near the corner of 22nd Avenue and Nicholson Street on October 9, 2014.

The deceased included a 49 year old male and a 50 year old female. Both Brownson and Johnson will appear in court November 18th.

And 35 year old Shaun Raymond Bockus of Prince George has been charged with Driving without Due Care & Attention after he struck and killed a 79 year Prince George woman on Winnipeg Street December 16, 2014. Bockus will appear in court later today.

Provincial Crown Counsel approved all charges under the Motor Vehicle Act.

All three fatalities occured when it was dark out and visibility was poor.
