Prince George, B.C. – B.C. Hydro crews are working to restore power to several areas following windstorms across northern areas of the province.
Approximately 1400 customers in the northern region have no power this morning, 770 of them in the vicinity of Tumbler Ridge. Other affected communities include Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, Vanderhoof, Burns Lake, Smithers and Terrace. Downed Hydro lines and trees across lines have caused the majority of the outages.
Approximately 120 customers in the Mackenzie area have been without electricity since a motor vehicle accident involving a Hydro pole occurred just after 8:30 Friday night. No further information on that accident is available at this time.
