Quesnel, B.C. – The 2nd Annual Quesnel Business Walks have been penciled in for later this month.

They will take place on October 27 and 30 and have been organized by Quesnel’s Economic Development team in recognition of Small Business Month.

On the days of the walks, small teams of volunteers will walk from business to business to ask a few questions of business owners or managers.

“A healthy and entrepreneurial business sector is vital to our community’s future,” says Mayor Bob Simpson. “Annual Business Walks allows us to better understand what these significant local employers need to maximize their business opportunities, job creation potential, and contribution to our local and regional economy.”

Following the walks, Economic Development staff will use the information to prioritize projects and provide one on one support to businesses as needed.

Information gathered from last year’s walks revealed “location” has one of the top reasons business owners chose Quesnel while 84% of businesses reported a positive outlook.
