“It Is What It is” – Shaw Concedes Defeat
Prince George B.C. – Prince George-Peace River- Northern Rockies Liberal candidate Matt Shaw has conceded defeat tonight at the Prince George Golf & Curling Club.
“It is what it is,” said Shaw, who after 150 of 232 counted polls was a distant second to Conservative incumbent Bob Zimmer.
“A lot of people would have thought this was a good result before it started so I’m reasonably happy. ”
Would he have done anything differently?
“I was a real amateur and I didn’t even know what an effective campaign was. I’m not sure anything would have made a difference.”
Despite the loss, he says he’s excited his party still won a majority government.
“I think it’s going to be a good thing. The way the country was heading I wanted to see some different priorities and I think we will.”
