Parent Conference on Saturday
Prince George, B.C. – Parents from across northern B.C. will gather for a conference at the Prince George Civic Centre this Saturday.
Put on by the Prince George District Advisory Council, it will include a keynote speech by registered psychologist Dr. Vanessa Lapointe, who will be speaking on reliance in children.
It will also include people from F.O.R.C.E. for Kids’ Mental Health speaking on kids mental health.
Other workshop topics will include discussions on making schools inclusive and welcoming and what all parents should know about weaving aboriginal perspectives into the curriculum.
“We’re pleased by our registrations from other school districts,” says PGDPAC president Sarah Holland. “Where else do parents from Lac La Hache get to talk with parents from Lac De Bois?”
The conference is open to the public and begins at 8:30am. Those interested in registering can click here.
