Prince George, B.C. – A Prince George tradition is upon us once again.

The 22nd annual Spirit of the North Health Care Foundation’s Festival of Trees will take place November 20-29 at the Civic Centre.

Festival of Trees coordinator Shirli-Gene Sadowick says their goal of having 100 decorated trees displayed in recognition of the city’s centennial is what sets this year’s event apart from previous years.

“Yes, that was our decision last year and we felt it was definitely possible and Prince George has really pulled together this year and helped us out.”

If you’d like to sponsor a tree she says they’ll do their best to accommodate you. Those interested are asked to call 250-565-2515.

Sadowick says that’s also the number to call for special events planned for the entire week.

“The dine and dance has already sold-out,” and says tickets to all other events, like the Fashion Show and the Senior’s Tea/Lunch, are going fast.

Sadowick notes year’s festival raised nearly $550,000 and says more than $3.5 million has been raised for healthcare in the North since the event started back in 1994.
