Prince George, B.C. – The fifth annual ‘Military Church Parade’ will be held this Sunday at the Prince George Cemetery.

As usual, the event has been organized by the Rocky Mountain Rangers Army Cadets with assistance from the Prince George Legion.

John Scott, Legion Zone Commander for BC/Yukon, says the event seems to get bigger each year.

“Yes, and we get our MLAs. Shirley Bond always shows up and Mike Morris will probably be there. And of course our MPs if available always show up.”

He calls the event another way to remember the sacrifices our veterans have made.

“It gives a little bit more meaning to the word remembrance when you see all those graves there marked by little flags. Vets who died after the war and veterans from the war in Afghanistan.”

He says the march starts at 9:45 a.m. “People normally gather in the parking lot and we go and have the parade where we proceed to the veterans area where the crowd is already assembled.”

Scott says the public is welcome to attend.
