Two Face Charges
Prince George, B.C.- Two Prince George men are facing a string of charges in relation to a number of violent crimes this fall.
The charges stem from an on going investigation which saw 24 year old Ryan James Watt and another male arrested in late October as they sat in a parked vehicle off highway 16 west in Prince George. At that time police seized heroin and cash. Police also obtained a search warrant for a residence on Leland Road, a search which resulted in the seizure of a .22 calbre semi-automatic rifle, drug trafficking paraphernalia as well as cocaine and methamphetamine.
As a result of that investigation, Ryan James Watt has been charged with:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (3 counts)
- Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited
- Possession of Ammunition while Prohibited (4 counts)
The second male was not charged.
The investigation continued, and police suspected Watt and 24 year old Colin Michaud Durrand to have been responsible for a number of violent incidents towards several people in the local drug trade. The offences are alleged to have occurred between August 23rd and November 21st of this year.
Watt and Colin Michaud Durrand have now been charged with:
- Forcible Confinement
- Pointing a Firearm
- Assault (2 counts)
- Aggravated Assault
- Uttering Threats (Watt: 3 counts, Durrand: 2 counts)
Both men are in custody at the Prince George Regional Correction Centre at least until their next court appearance which is scheduled for December 9th, 2015.
