CounterAttack Nets One Impaired
Prince George, B.C. – Despite warnings that Police would be out in full force on the weekend with the CounterAttack program, a couple of drivers chose to gamble and lost.
RCMP in Prince George say one driver was charged under the criminal code for being impaired, and another was given a 24 hour licence suspension for being under the influence of drugs.
This was the first weekend of the annual campaign which aims to keep impaired drivers off the roads at a time of the year when so many are attending parties and getting into the holiday ‘spirits’.
As the party season ramps up , police remind the public to make the right choice to ensure they get home safely. Have a designated driver, take a cab, take transit or call Operation Red Nose to ensure everyone gets home safe and no family will have to suffer a tragedy.

2 drivers..thats it… very nice.. looks like people are learning. Our company Xmas party was last weekend but they pay for Taxis for us so we get home safe.
Must say it is a bit strange having the Xmas party with no snow on the ground.
Hey, no fair. You guys always say you’re going to be out in force but you never do it – really, you should have to say, we’re really really going to be out in force this weekend, so we know. I agree P Val, pretty lower numbers. Catching few people is a good news story.
Hey, I sat in a bar yesterday, drank coffee, with the wife and her buds for her birthday, didn’t see a single pc anywhere. But, if I had had one drink, probably woulda bin pulled over, LOL.
Yer right Ski, they really, really gotta get out there.
But, good numbers, I agree.
Remember the good old days, “Don’t get caught, drinking and driving”.
Those were the days my friend.
Went out on Friday and Saturday. Saturday I was the DD. Not too bad of an arrangement. Times have changed, we still can kick up the dust, but just not worth it to get an impaired.
I have run across a few road blocks. fortunately, I was the DD then!
