Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Community Foundation hosted its Downtown Winter Fair at the Civic Centre on Saturday.
The event benefits the Youth in Philanthropy program, which teaches young people about their community and how they can have an impact through philanthropic endeavors. Proceeds of the sale of baked goods along with a portion of the rental of tables by vendors went to the program.
Visitors had the opportunity to purchase a wide variety of goods, everything from hot chocolate to tapestries, paintings to baskets and bongo drums. There were homemade wooden ornaments, coin collectables, a variety of health and home care products and services, everything from soup to nuts (literally).
And outside the Civic Centre the scene was quite seasonal as figures skaters displayed their stuff on the ice of Canada Games Plaza.
Prince George Fire Rescue also had a dunk tank on hand, but for some reason there didn’t seem to be any takers. Heck it was only about minus 8 out.
